A campus
of the University
of Alaska is located in Sitka and has been
noted in Business Week and Forbes for its expertise
at distance-delivered education.
In addition, Sitka has three high schools, middle and
elementary schools and a number of private schools.
There are several excellent day-care centers. Sitka
is also the location of the Alaska State Trooper Academy.
Workers are eager for training in order to advance in
the local job market and Sitka's educational institutions
have responded with innovative new training and vocational
programs and services, which incorporate the needs of
local business.
