Education

Goal

Expand educational opportunities, attract new educational services that are not provided by existing institutions in Sitka, and develop a regional education hub.

Actions

  1. Work with UAS, the City, and community groups.
  2. Consider: marine and fisheries science, nursing and geriatric health care, marine industry (ie California Maritime Academy), climate studies…
  3. Expand vocational training. Provide support in the development of the Southeast Alaska Academic and Vocational Institute as a component of educational and economical development for Sitka.
