The next day, you learn your brother-in-law Tom has just decided to take his newly minted college degree and put it to work with an outfit in Alaska that’s offered him a job.  You look back at your youth and envy the excitement of the adventure he is about to undertake.  Your mother-in-law is none too happy with his move and says:  “(1) Anyone who moves to Alaska is a social misfit or hermit.  Why would Tom want to move up there?
